APFNet Scholarship Program

APFNet Scholarship Program (ASP) Launched in 2010 aims to support capable forestry officials or researchers in the Asia-Pacific region to pursue higher academic degrees in the field of sustainable forest management and rehabilitation. The program is open to applicants from APFNet member economies.

In partnership with three leading universities in China – Beijing Forestry University (BFU), Nanjing Forestry University (NFU), Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (NWA&FU),and Chulalongkorn University (CU), APFNet offers scholarships for master and doctoral programs in key areas of forestry. Advanced managerial knowledge, techniques and skills, as well as opportunities for field practice are provided, to improve the ability of those who will drive sustainable forest management and rehabilitation forward for the region. All the courses in this program will be provided in English. After earning their degrees, the scholars are expected to use their new skills and knowledge and contribute to the sustainable management of forests in their economies.
 
Since 2010, the ASP has supported more than 190 experienced professionals in continuing their studies and boosting their careers. The ASP encompasses forest science, forestry economics and management, environmental engineering, forest protection, soil and water conservation, and desertification control.
