APFNet has been promoting agroforestry as a nature-based solution to enhance both rural well-being and ecosystem health since its establishment. In Restoring Nature and Sustaining Livelihoods: APFNet's Agroforestry Case Studies in the Asia Pacific Region, APFNet shares its concepts, key practices and experiences from fifteen-years of agroforestry demonstration in the Asia-Pacific region.

Multifunctional restoration of degraded forests and deforested lands are main priorities of APFNet demonstration projects. In Multifunctional Forest Management at Wangyedian Forest Farm: Insights from APFNet Demonstration Projects, APFNet shares its fifteen-year journey of introducing and demonstrating multifunctional forest management through a science-based, close-to-nature approach at Wangyedian, a state-owned forest farm in Northern China.

APFNet has contributed to these efforts by supporting project partners to develop new and improved methods
to measure carbon on regional, national, and local scales and demonstrate how to enhance carbon storage via forest
management. Specifically in this book, we include contextual information about MRV processes, carbon accounting
methodologies, international reporting, and a full overview of APFNet’s efforts in carbon emissions accounting and
carbon stocks to help APFNet member economies gain insights into our work and improve the tools to enhance their
efforts in carbon accounting.

The annual report covers the events and activities of APFNet, with a focus on our core work and accomplishments through the year.
