Fully realizing the fundamental role of human resource development, especially of younger and future generations, in advancing regional forestry development, APFNet has been providing scholarship opportunities to young and capable forestry officials and researchers for master's and doctoral degree programs in forestry and related fields for the past 15 years. Hosted by leading forestry universities, the program courses cover advanced knowledge, techniques, and skills and are supported with field practices and experiments, aiming to get early-career professionals systematically trained with modern mindsets and skills to meet challenges in forestry transition at regional and global levels.

So far, 193 scholarship winners in 14 annual batches have received ASP funding support, 76 of whom are females. APFNet has been tracking the status of the graduated scholars and found that most ASP alums working with governments, institutes, universities, and international organizations are in real action to transform the regional forest sector towards a sustainable one.
