Conserving keystone species and forests in Hainan Island, China

To conserve keystone species and restore tropical rainforests in Hainan, the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation launched a new project in Bawangling, Hainan, on 14 July 2021. With a demonstration area of 14.4 ha, the three-year project will showcase species conservation techniques, restoration technology for damaged forests and best management practices for natural tropical rainforests. During the launch and inception meeting, stakeholders from the Chinese Academy of Forestry, Bawangling branch of Hainan National Forest Park and Hainan University discussed implementation plans for the project.
