25 May 2010, UNCCD - Luc Gnacadja, Executive Secretary of the UNCCD and Ms. Jan McAlpine, Director of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the UN Forum on Forests Secretariat, signed a MoU to strengthen their cooperation on these two crucial issues that are very much linked. “The sustainable management of forest ecosystems can only be assured if there are also efforts in land rehabilitation and land reclamation,” said Luc Gnacadja during the signing ceremony, which took place on the margins of the Fourth GEF Assembly in Punta Del Este, Uruguay.
