Trainning workshop(2010,July):Forest land tenure reform
This book is a compilation of reports of participants who attended APFNet's training workshop(2012,July):The Role of Forest Resources management in the Great Mekong Sub-region
This paper presents highlights from 27 reports which participants submitted from the 17 economies that attended workshops sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet), held in Kunming, China in November 2010 and October 2011. It notes the similarities and differences in the management of forest resources in the Asia-Pacific region, identifies challenges in this regard and suggests ways to improve the current situation.
In 2007, leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) agreed to set an
aspirational goal of increasing forest cover in the region, by at least 20 million hectares of all types of forests by 2020. APFNet, in collaboration with FAO, completed an assessment in 2015 after nine months of extensive data collection, analysis and consultation.
