In an effort to promote the sustainable management in the field of tropical forests, Mr. Lu De, Deputy Director-General of APFNet, and Mr. Ze Meka, Executive Director of ITTO, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of the two organizations on 16 May 2011 for long-term collaboration.

The MoU lays out the framework for joint actions and fields of cooperation, including development of forest policies, criteria and indicators, innovation of technologies and approaches, private sectors partnerships and raising public awareness, among others.
