To facilitate forestry human resource development (HRD) for Asia-Pacific forestry authorities, APFNet proposed the establishment of a network for in-service forestry training in Bogor, Indonesia in 2014. Following a series of consultations, this HRD dialogue was renamed the Trainers in Forestry (TIF) Network and aims to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of forestry training efforts in the region through information exchange, capacity building, and collaboration.
Forestry government trainers or personnel responsible for skill development and training (including those in forestry training or human resource departments)
Government-affiliated traininginstitutions that are focused on vocational forestry training and skill building as well as non-governmental capacity- building organizations
Forestry policy makers or senior managers who have decision-making influence on forestry training or skill building
Updates and exchanges on forestry training activities, experience and policies;
Regional needs and resource mapping among organizations, donors and economies;
Needs assessment on developing training strategies and policies.
Train of trainers' workshops on participatory approaches
Distribute knowledge, resources, tools or guidesfor training needs assessment, training effects monitoring, etc.
Technical training targeting forestry human resource managers on strategy writing;
Training on policy briefs;
Study tours on best practices for the implementation of training strategies.
