Background

2012 has seen APFNet make great strides in translating its Strategic Plan into reality and also increasing exposure of APFNet in regional and international occasion. Thanks to the effort of all involving economies and international / regional economies, the APFNet Operational Framework has been formally accepted, which has defined the governance structure of APFNet in the future. Thematic training workshops were held to benefit 45 forestry officials and two demonstration projects were launched in 2012. APFNet proposed to implement the ASEM program on promoting sustainable forest management and committed partial funds for organizing the Second APEC Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Forestry.
