Beijing Forestry University organize international students in APFNet Program to make field visiting on Key Collective Forest Zone in south China
On September 16th, school of Economics and Management at Beijing Forestry University organized international students for master degree studies of the 2016 session funded by The Asia-Pacific Forest Restoration and Sustainable Management (APFNet) to make one week field visiting on Sanming city and Jiangle county of Fu Jian province where are key collective forest zone in south China.
 
The forestry administration of Sanming city and Jianglecounty showed their warm reception to the international students. Mr. Pan Zifan, guest professor in Beijing Forestry University and also deputy director of Sanming Forestry Administration, introduced forest development history, successful experience and development program of Sanming city. Mr. Chen Aican, section chief the industry division, Chen Youcan, section chief of science and technology division, supplemented information about forest science and technology and forest industry development in Sanming city.


 
 
Accompanied by Mr. Chen, and Mr. Luo Ruiqing, chief engineer of Jiangle forestry administration, and Mr. Lin Shuifa, chairman of Wanan township People's Congress, international students visited new vision of Wanan village affiliated to Wanan township, and then formed understanding on its resource endowment, its management mode, distribution of revenue, a cooperation mode named ‘village+individual+enterprise’, and farmers’ income soure.

 
 
Likewise, international students visited the intelligent forestry system belonged to Fujian Jinsen Forestry Company, the first forestry list enterprise in China, a large scale crape myrtle base jointly established by Beijing Forestry university and the company, and other key projects in the company. In addition, international students actively inquired more details about technology research and application, and the cost and revenue of the intelligent forestry system.
 
 
The international students are highly impressed by richness forest resource, advance development of forestry industry, good ecological environment and harmonious rural communities in the southern collective forest zone. They also indicate that they have deeper insight into China’s forestry development according to the field visiting, which would make a great contribution for them to using successful experience of China’s forestry as reference to enhance their own nation’s forestry development.
 
It is reported that Beijing Forestry University has been trusted to implement APFNet Scholarship program from 2010 and is first organization to hold this program in China. Till now,  there have graduated nearly 30 master students. Since 2013, based on major of forest economics and management, school of Economics and Management in Beijing Forestry University conducted the scholarship program and educated many international students from Mexico, Malaysia, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos and Mongolia.
