POSITION: Project Management Officer

ABOUT APFNET
The Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet), is an international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable forest management and rehabilitation in the Asia-Pacific region.
We, in close collaboration with members and partners, address regional challenges through forest-related actions, supported by financing demonstration projects, facilitating policy dialogues, fostering capacity building, and sharing information and knowledge.
Demonstration projects, as one of our four major implementation tools, are aimed at rehabilitating degraded forests and increasing forest cover, promoting sustainable forest management to improve forest health and ecological services of forest ecosystems, and enhancing the contribution of forests to socio-economic development and local livelihoods.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Management of APFNet-funded projects, facilitating project initiation, guiding and monitoring project implementation via desk reading, communication with project team and stakeholders and executing progress checks and evaluations, supporting smooth project completion and closure for expected outputs and impacts;
-Summarizing project outputs and outcomes, composting and editing project-related communication materials and knowledge products, reflecting valuable information, good practices, and policy reference that could be widely replicated;
-Supporting dissemination and exchanges of project-produced information and knowledge, by speaking at APFNet or third-party events, or via other possible communication forms;
-Organizing events including workshops, meetings, training, study tours in relating to APFNet projects; and
-Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
-A Master’s or Doctor’s degree in forest-related field (a major in environmental science or forestry as bonus);
-Native English speaker or similar-level proficiency (speaking and writing Chinese as bonus);
-Minimum 2-year work experience in project management in environment /forest-related fields;
-Excellent writing and editing skills, strong analytical and summarization skills;
-Cultural sensitivity and ability to respect and work well in a diverse team;
-A self-disciplined and self-driven team player;
-Excellent Microsoft Office skills (proficiency in GIS and Photoshop as bonus).
