APFNet Attended the Workshop on Protection and Sustainable Management of Forest Resources
The Sino-ASEAN Network of Forestry Research Institutes (SANFRI) Coordination Office in Yunnan Academy of Forestry and Grassland started the Workshop on Protection and Sustainable Management of Forest Resources on September 9, 2022, and it will be available online through September 28, 2022. APFNet, as the sponsor and initiator of SANFRI, participated in the opening session and introduced itself and the work carried out under SANFRI.
The workshop aims to promote cooperation and communication in forest science and technology among SANFRI economies, as well as to extend the technical achievements and practical experiences Yunnan province has gained in forest resource protection and sustainable management, in order to help share the best management experience, producing a positive effect and contributing to regional forest restoration.
During the opening session, Ms. DENG Junqiu, Director of International Cooperation Office of Yunnan Forestry and Grassland Bureau, Dr. Vo Dai Hai, President of Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences, Chair of SANFRI, and Dr. Ismail Parlan, Director General of Forest Research Institute Malaysia, Vice Chair of SANFRI all gave opening speeches and key-note presentations, expressing their support and recognition for the workshop and the SANFRI mechanism.
