About 168 ministers high level officials from the Chinese Central Government and Ministries participated in the Ninth Ministerial tree planting activities held in Beijing. This activity was initiated nine years ago with the theme being “Hand in hand for a green home”.

Mr. Jia Zhibang, Minister of State Forestry Administration noted the innovation in compulsory tree planting activities across China. With the joint efforts of the society, the greening of the national territory has been accelerated and forest resources greatly increased.

During the activity, Mr. Jia Zhibang shared experience with other ministers on tree planting and briefed them on the forest development in China and the role of forests in maintaining ecosystem balance, improving the environment and in mitigating climate change.
