APFNet Demonstration Base for Tropical Forest Rehabilitation and Sustainable Management inaugurated in Guangxi

The APFNet Demonstration Base for Tropical Forest Rehabilitation and Sustainable Management was inaugurated in Guangxi, Pingxiang, on May 15, 2018. Mr. Xia Jun, Assistant Executive Director, officials from Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF) and its affiliated Experimental Center of Tropical Forestry, and over 30 APFNet Scholarship Program (ASP) students witnessed the inauguration ceremony.

APFNet signed an agreement with CAF, China’s flagship forestry research institute in 2013 to facilitate cooperation in the demonstration and extension of research results. This newly established base will serve as a platform for training and dissemination of tropical forest rehabilitation and management concepts, technologies and practices among APFNet member economies. After the ceremony, all ASP students will take a 5 day field trip plus in-door lectures at the experimental center.
